 The region known as West Turkey is where the Aegean and the Mediterranean sea meets the green of the hills - nature, the sea and ancient civilizations all come together. When to go |
The main resorts throughout West Turkey are open from April till the end of October. Temperatures average in the mid 20's Celsius during the early and late months of the season but can rise to the low 30's during the summer peak season. |

| Things to do in West Turkey |
Marmaris & Icmeler Much of the daytime will be taken up either by your hotel pool or on the beach. Evenings can either be spent at your hotel or at some great bars, restaurants and clubs in Marmaris & Icmeler. The Talk of the Town show in Marmaris is worth a visit and makes a nice evening out for all the family. Tickets cost around £20 and includes a meal and the first drink. Tickets are on sale at several outlets around Marmaris. The choices of activities and excursions are endless, horse riding, white water rafting, jeep safaris, boat trips, quad biking, all is available here. Day trips can be booked either via your hotel or in resort and a jeep safari is a must if you want to see more of the region.  Waterparks: The Marmaris Aquapark closed a few years ago so the nearest one is a 10 minute bus ride away in Marmaris. There are two waterparks in Marmaris but according to previous clients the better one is the Atlantis.
Atlantis Waterpark: This great waterpark offers slides for all ages a Wave Pool, Space Hole Slide, Bumper boats, Bowling alley & Games, Pool Bar & Rain Dance and safe Fun for everyone. Boat trips are very popular and one of the most popular trips
form Marmaris is onboard the
Panorama Princess which offers a reasonably priced days cruising visiting open air mud baths with warm spring water bathing, the Dalyan Delta passing Lycian Rock Tombs carved in the cliffs and much more. The Nemo fishing boat can be found at Marmaris harbour and offers a wide range of fishing trips and supply all the equipment you require. Some last for three hours but the day-long trips are best with lunch cooked and served on board and you're sure to have some great results as the Nemo is fitted with sonar to help find the fish. Tip! book the fishing trip at the harbour as you'll get a better price. For shopaholics Marmaris is a shoppers paradise, and the bustling Wednesday market is an experience where you will be able to bargain for fake Gucci handbags and local lace, etc. If you're not in to markets and want a more upmarket product then a visit to the Vogue Jewellery & Diamond Center is a must. This is Marmaris's biggest jewelry manufacturer where you can buy excellent handmade quality gold jewelry at factory prices! Diamonds, precious stones, watches & silver.
